Since I got these CD decks, I've spent long hours trolling beatport looking for hot trax. I've also got a couple of people to burn me compilations. Now I'm making this thread for sharing your favourite DJ fodder. We have spontaneous spurts of music sharing in other threads, but if you find something sick that doesn't belong anywhere else, put it in here. Release date and genre doesn't matter. Popularity doesn't matter. Fuck it, it doesn't necessarily need to be DJ fodder. It's just gotta be good.

I know we had a good TV thread at some point, but I couldn't find it. What have you been watching lately?

I just finished Dollhouse a few days ago (created by Joss Whedon who did Buffy/Firefly). The show was about people who contract their lives to a company as "dolls" in return for a large sum of cash. As a doll your brain is wiped and reprogrammed for clients who hire you (usually for love/sex). The main plot revolved around an FBI agent trying to free a girl contracted to the dollhouse. It was a bit inconsistent in quality, particularly if it was a plot of the week episode. But when it was good, it was really fucking good. The last half of season 2 was probably some of the best television I've seen, there was always a mind-blowing twist at the end of each episode.

I'm also watching Louie, and almost caught up to season 2. This one combines Louis CK's stand-up with vignettes of his life as a divorced father of two. It's sort of like mixing Seinfeld with Woody Allen. Sometimes the episodes are just depressing and not really funny at all, but I still find myself watching it.

I'm on a big documentary hit at the moment. I'm watching docos and assembling or paintng my hams. It's pretty sweet.
So recommend me some documentaries.

It's in 6 parts, which is great, because each part is about 25minutes. I liked the pace of this one, it was good at explaining the ideas behind each philosophy without trying to drown you in knowledge.

Seems pretty good so far.

I also recently watched the documentary: "aka Tommy Chong" (of Cheech and Chong). Highly recommend it for anyone who is a fan of drug-law documentaries.

so I've been doing weights for a while now, my arms have probably doubled since, but I'm still 6 foot tall and about 130 lbs. I know some of you guys exercise a lot more than me, and I want your tips on how to get bigger. I don't really give a shit about legs, so it's all upper body, chest, back, shoulders and arms. Tbh I don't really mind about strength, I'm not going to be cage fighting any time soon so it's all for show.

I put the smallest possible Google ads I could at the bottom of the page. I'm not encouraging you to click them. Google pays pennies for page visits based on how many people just see the links, never mind clicking them.

This is just adding to the WCOM fund account. I doubt that there will be more than a few cents brought in from those ads, but whatever there is will be put towards WCOM.

I won't be adding any more anywhere else, and as I said if you want these taken down I will. I would never try to make a profit off of this site. I just want to keep it going.

Band Thread

So I put off making this topic even after it was suggested, but it seems like we have something worth at least updating you about. Basically this thread will be for everything band related, questions, blog type ramblings and progessions etc. So if you've never been in a band and want to know what it's like then post a question here.

Last week I responded to an email about amp endorsements, and totally sucked up to what the brand was about. Basically said how we were "unmistakeably British" and that we strive to write good songs, not stick to the trend blah blah, and today they wrote back saying they want to endorse us! The brand is Hiwatt, who also endorse Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys, and more recently Foo Fighters and Noel Gallagher. It would be awesome to be on the list with those guys, even if it's just for a brand of amp which doesn't really mean anything. Just the recognition alone is enough for us all to be totally psyched. We have to buy some amps though (even at half price, these are really top-of-the-line amps and as such, very expensive) so we will probably have to go for the most basic we can afford.

Also our manager replied to an email today saying he was really pleased with the direction and sound of our new material so that's good. It's definitely not chart stuff but the fact that he's being encouraging and not saying "write more hits" type of thing has really put us on a high. Honestly we haven't felt this productive in months. He hasn't even heard 3 or 4 songs we're sitting on.

I'm pretty sure someone uses fraps. I have the video captured, but it's huge ofc. So I put it in windowsmoviemaker which comes with my fabulous XP. This makes the file smaller but I still can't get any sound. What program do you use for video editing? wtf am i doing wrong?

Also how does mic work. It works in hon when I hit T. Simple as that. How do I get the computer to record it, or whatever.

Damn I am terrible at computers.
