Been playing the new 007 for the Wii. The campaign was really good, and this is the best online multiplayer shooter I've played on the Wii. Even better than CoD.

I bought the new Deus Ex game.  It's a lot of sneaking around, waiting for the AI guards to finish their sequence so you can walk up behind them and break them in half.

So basically the best thing about Deus Ex is you have these things in your arms that pop out and sneaking up on people and unleashing your fury is pretty fun.

I used to have to wait and pick off the guards one by one, but then I found the silencer.

The game starts off well, with your decisions having consequences, but then you can kill everyone in Detroit, or wipe out everyone in a Chinese fake arm factory and no one will care. It's dissapointing.

I used to think making a mediocre 40K game was impossible. I have been proven wrong. Twice. By the same developer.

Playing the shit outta Space Marine.  The multi is still very laggy, but the single player kicks ass.

They have released Space Marine: Exterminatus (coop multiplayer).
God damn it is fun butchering Orks with friends.  So many kills.  So so many.

This video hardly does it justice.

Wow, reading things like that makes me fucking hate people.

On an unrelated note, I was going to buy spacemarine because I thought it sounded neat but I've never seen gameplay footage or heard much about it so I thought it was a flop, and I bought some oldschool RTS titles instead. Exterminatus looks sick though

Space Marine owns so hard, but maybe you have to be a Warhammer 40k fan or it will just be another shooter with some melee thrown in.  I think everyone can enjoy using a jump pack and slamming a giant hammer into mobs of Orks though.

So they released an expansion to Magic The Gathering: Duel of the Planewalkers.  It's $5 and pretty good.  There are 3 new decks, plus you can play as the 1 in the 1vs3 arch enemy games.  Fun times.  Not impressed much by the new decks, only one seems decent.

Watched some Gamescom 2011 coverage by Totalbiscuit. Would post the vids but it won't let me on my ipad.

Torchlight 2 - looks cool but torchlight 1 got boring really fast and it looks like it might be the same for the sequel.

Star Warz - the PvP looks really fun and the combat in general looks fun, I migt try it out if I have the time whenever it gets released.

Guild Wars 2 - Looks really sick, the style of it doesn't even seem like aN mmo, the PvP is crazy and kind of feels like a TF2 MMO. I will definitely try this game out if I have the time whenever its released.

How important are these conductors I wonder. I mean, the doods know how to play, what useful instructions can the conductor possibly give aside from "start playing now", "stop playing now"?

He provides a tempo for the orchestra to follow. It's hard to hear everyone else when you've got a tuba blasting in your ear, and you could end up playing too fast or too slow.

Also the conductor will motion for crescendos and decrescendos and the like which is helpful even though it's probably on their sheet music.

Conductors are integral to orchestras. Mostly for their interpretation of the piece, they "teach" the orchestra how to play the piece during rehersals.

Sure during performances everyone should know what they're doing, and the baton waving is just there to "remind" I guess. But during the preperation for the performance, the conductor is influential in how the piece will play out. (No matter how the composer wrote the notes on paper, different people will have different takes on the music).
