A few days old I know – I have been working a lot the past few days and haven’t had a chance to post.

I will direct this to our resident republican wiseone (or any other conservative I may be missing) – wtf is someone like steele doing apologizing to some blowhard, dipshit like Rush? Have the republicans honestly lost their direction as the democrats did of the mid 2000’s? Are they scrambling so bad as to really need someone like fugging Rush Limbaugh as a mouth piece? This is akin to Howard Dean calling Al Franken an entertainer (which he is) and then coming crawling back – groveling – kissing his ass and cocksucking.

I always was able to respect other peoples views (regardless of how it appeared on this site – IRL I always dignified someone elses view with respect) – but this latest drama on the right really has me shaking my head.

Furthermore, I don’t necessarily agree 100% with what Obama’s admin is doing here, but if the repub’s want any sort of chance of regaining senate seats – they really need to get their shit together.

I thought the democrats had managed to make people think that Rush Limbaugh was the republican leader. At the very least they are having little joygasms over the current state of affairs with the GOP.

Well luckily, not being a Republican, I don't have to worry about party politics.
    BUT
If I was Steele though, I'd probably be thinking that while although Limbaugh's comments have certainly hurt the Republicans lately, the Republicans have more to lose than to gain by push Limbaugh away from the party. I'm sure both parties have done all kinds of research on this but I'd bet my house that Republicans count on Rush's listeners to be pretty loyal to him. If Rush were to get on the radio and talk about how the Republican Party isn't really republican anyway it would probably cost the Republican Party more in votes and contributions than Rush's recent comments have.

I really don't get involved in political parties because its really about just winning votes, power, and money, not actually doing something for the country. And being in the military they don't like personnel to be too involved in political parties, especially officers, the military is supposed to be apolitical after all.

That being said I hope Rush doesn't actually become or perceived to become the part of the leadership of the GOP. And even though I don't like all of what Obama is doing I think he's more focused on doing what he think is right more than most politicians, which is a quality in itself.
